Plano Search Continues For Missing 23-Year-Old
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - Police will work through the weekend in Plano as they search for 23-year-old Christina Morris. The Fort Worth woman vanished early Saturday from a parking garage at the Shops at Legacy in Plano.
"I'm losing hope," says Morris' mother, Jonni McElroy, "but, I still have faith. It's been seven days and that's a long time."
For a parent of a missing child -- worried sick and stressed to the max -- patience is an impossible task. Thus McElroy and her husband, Ronnie, beat a well-worn path through the parking garage and nearby businesses at the shopping center… because anything is better than sitting still.
"We can't sleep," says McElroy. "I have two different visions… in one vision I see her smile, I feel her touch. And I also vision the worst. And I don't like that at all."
Plano police have released a brief clip of the garage surveillance video showing Christina and a friend walking into the parking garage just before 4 a.m. Saturday… and shows them parting ways.
"He goes to the right to his car. He gets in his car and he leaves," says Officer David Tilley, a Plano Police spokesperson. "She went the other way. From there, we don't really know what happened."
According to Plano police, the friend that accompanied Christina into the garage was questioned multiple times and has cooperated with every request. He is not considered a suspect.
"I feel like she was intercepted," says McElroy, who believes that the key to solving her daughter's disappearance lies in the vehicles that exited the garage shortly after she entered.
Plano police are now convinced that Morris is no longer in the shopping center area and are considering bringing in outside search and rescue teams. They're asking anyone that may have been exiting or entering the parking garage last Saturday at about 4 a.m. to contact them. Someone, they say, may have seen something important without realizing it.
"If my daughter is alive out there, somebody knows," says McElroy.
