Plano Reports Second West Nile Death
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A second person has died from the West Nile Virus in Plano, while the total number of reported cases in the city remains at 28. The latest death brings the total number of deaths from the virus in Collin County to four. The Collin County Health Department says the latest death is a result of a previous reported case of West Nile Neuroinvasive Disease. The Plano Environmental Health Department points out that the frequency of new cases has become more sporadic, with the illness affecting 1 out of 9,643 Plano residents.
Meanwhile, nearby Frisco plans to spray for mosquitoes on September 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Spraying will occur between Panther Creek Parkway, just south of Eldorado on either side of the Dallas North Tollway.
