Plano Bomb Suspect's Homemade Videos, Past Charges Emerge

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) – Anti-government videos have surfaced from a Plano man suspected of detonating a homemade bomb near natural gas equipment in his neighborhood.

A video posted on YouTube shows Anson Chi tearing up a 1040 form during a rant about the IRS. "I will not file," Chi says after ripping the form. "Nor will I pay a single penny in income tax."

Authorities found Chi bleeding near a natural gas regulator on Parker Road Sunday night after residents reported hearing an explosion.

Police say Chi claimed he was hit by a car while jogging. FBI agents, though, have searched his parent's home twice since the incident. He is facing a federal charge of possessing an explosive device.

CBS 11 has uncovered Chi's criminal past which includes a theft charge in San Angelo and an concealed weapons charge in California. He was still wanted for violating probation there. He was arrested in Collin County last month for failing to identify himself as a fugitive.

Chi also published an online book titled Yellow on the Outside, Shame on the Inside. He calls it a fictional story, and includes long criticisms of the Asian culture, including that it is all about money and power.

His online resume says he attended Collin College and UT Dallas. His work experience as a computer engineer is described as "paid slavery."

Neighbors say the more they learn about Chi the more convinced they become that he was planning to hurt people.

"I think it was intended to do harm I'm just glad he got caught before something happened around the neighborhood something worse could have happened," says Jim Rotunda, a Plano resident who lives in Chi's neighborhood.

Chi remains hospitalized recovering from injuries sustained in the explosion.
