Pizza Delivery Leads To Irving Standoff

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - A police standoff in Irving ended after nearly four hours with the suspect being arrested. The incident started at around 8:45 p.m. on Tuesday night at a home in the 2400 block of McClure Street, not far from Story Road.
According to authorities, a man at the home ordered some pizza. But when the pizza business saw the address, workers recognized it as a home where they had been stiffed on payment once before. The location's manager arrived to deliver the food and asked for identification to go along with a credit card.
The man at the home refused, so the delivery driver took the pizza back and left the premises, calling police.
Officers arrived and other family members exited the home, but the man refused to come outside. That is when officers realized that the suspect had an outstanding felony warrant. Authorities called in a SWAT team to assist with the effort.
After several attempts to communicate with the man, police ultimately used tear gas and flash bangs to lure him out of the home, where he was put under arrest. The suspect's name has not been released. His warrant was for several felony assault charges.
