Pinwheels Represent Children Abused Last Year
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Part of the Texas Christian University (TCU) campus is now covered in blue.
TCU has joined forces with Alliance For Children (AFC) to raise awareness about local child abuse.
This week part of the campus is covered with nearly 6,000 blue pinwheels.
According to AFC, last year alone 5,888 children were victims of abuse in Tarrant County. Each of the pinwheels spinning on the campus represents one of those victims.
The TCU Pinwheel Project is also meant to highlight the observation of April as National Child Abuse Prevention month.
Student volunteers will be on hand April 15-20 to help educate their peers about child abuse prevention.
The pinwheel garden is on display in front of the TCU library on University Drive.
