Pilots Union President Warns Members "This Is Not A...Game"

FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - The union representing American Airlines pilots sent its members a strongly worded letter, a few days before voting begins on the airline's new contract offer.

Keith Wilson, the president of the Allied Pilots Association, expressed concern over an email he received in which a pilot he would rather see American Airlines liquidate than accept the current contract offer on the table.

Wilson compares voting against the tentative agreement to engaging "in a game of Russian roulette with two chambers in the revolver having already been turned."

"I want to make clear that this is not a fantasy game of 'Dungeons and Dragons' or 'Call of Duty.' We are not on a fictional crusade to slay a mythical dragon or gun down the opposition. This is not a remake of 'Braveheart.' writes Wilson. "This is our future, and it is imperative that you understand that we currently hold that future in our hands."

Voting begins Friday, November 23, and should take two weeks.
