PETA Protester Acquitted After Nude Protest
A PETA protester has been found not guilty two months after she was arrested for posing nearly nude near Main and Akard in downtown Dallas. In June, actress Meggan Anderson was part of a demonstration against the Ringling Brothers circus. Anderson posed in nothing but black bikini underwear, lying on the sidewalk with chains over one leg, one arm crossed across her bare chest and simulated red gashes stuck to her back. All of that was intended to portray what PETA calls the mis-treatment of circus animals. She was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and Dallas police said they believed she was trying to incite a crowd of on-lookers. But Anderson was acquitted in Dallas Municipal Court and her lawyer says she never should have been charged in the first place. Prosecutors have not commented publicly.
