Perry Will Not Call Special Session Over Education Funding

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Governor Perry says he will not be calling a special session to deal with the on-going education funding issues.

Several lawsuits have been filed against the State of Texas on behalf of around 500 school districts across the state. Most of the suits claim that districts are being forced to raise local property taxes in order to meet the minimum educational standards required by the state.

Governor Perry tells KRLD's Emily Trube why he does not plan on calling a special session of the legislature on public school finance.
