Perry To Speak At Virginia GOP Retreat
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Texas Gov. Rick Perry will be a featured speaker at the annual Donald W. Huffman Republican Party of Virginia Advance.
The three-day gathering of GOP officials and activists is begins Dec. 6 at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs. Perry speaks Saturday night, Dec. 7.
Other speakers include House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Congressman Bob Goodlatte, former Virginia first lady Susan Allen and conservative commentator and author Kate Obenshain.
The weekend retreat also includes workshops on a variety of topics, such as fundraising.
The GOP is coming off an election in which it lost all three statewide offices but retained its solid majority in the House of Delegates. An exceptionally close attorney general race between Republican Mark Obenshain and Democrat Mark Herring is likely headed to a recount.
