SUNNYVALE (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - A community will gather Thursday to honor slain Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, who were both murdered in their own home. Gov. Rick Perry and law enforcement officers from as far away as Britain are also expected to be among the hundreds attending the public memorial in Sunnyvale.

Officials with The Honor Network said that an overflow crowd is expected at the Thursday ceremony. McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, were found shot to death on Saturday in their home near Forney, about 20 miles east of Dallas. No arrests have been made.

Prior to the memorial service, Perry announced that the reward money being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case and that of Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse, who was gunned down near the Kaufman County Courthouse two months ago, has doubled from $100,000 to $200,000. "We cannot react with fear. We've got to react with resolve," said Perry at a press conference. "We have full confidence that this investigation will lead to the conviction of whoever perpetrated these insidious crimes."

The public memorial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Sunnyvale. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning at the First Baptist Church in Wortham. Burial will be at Wortham Cemetery. Wortham, where McLelland grew up, is located about 75 miles south of Dallas.
