Pedestrian Killed Crossing Interstate-20 In Arlington

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – A pedestrian was killed trying to run across Interstate 20 near Matlock Road early Sunday morning, Arlington Police Department spokeswoman Tiara Richard said.

Richard said the man, who has not been identified, darted across the freeway just as a driver entered the on eastbound ramp at Matlock Road.

The driver told police that she couldn't avoid the man and hit him with her car. A second driver also hit the man, Richard said. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:30 a.m.

Richard said neither of the drivers looked to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This is the 22nd traffic death in the city this year.
