GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Garland police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that happened October 1.

Jose Ramon Cruz Jr. was arrested and has been charged with murder.

According to police, shortly after Midnight Monday morning Cruz walked up to three men sitting outside in the 4100 block of Walnut Street. The trio was in the front yard of a house, drinking beer.

Cruz reportedly asked the men if he could buy a beer from them and was declined. The 23-year-old walked away but returned a short time later and again asked if he could buy a beer. Again, he was told no.

Dinh Ngo died several hours later at Parkland Hospital.

Cruz is being held in the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
