FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Fort Worth are asking for help from the public to identify and locate the man who exposed himself to a student walking home from school.

The incident happened Tuesday in the 2500 block of Marlin Street.

According to the Fort Worth Police Department's Crimes Against Children Unit, the man exposed himself to a nine-year-old girl as she was heading home from Logan Elementary School, in the Stop Six neighborhood.

The suspect is described as a white male, with no facial hair or tattoos, who at the time was wearing a blue shirt. While that physical description is vague, security cameras captured pictures near the offense and show that the man was driving a white-colored van that has cargo doors on the back. The vehicle has thin vertical windows, and at the time of the offense had a ladder on its' roof.

The Fort Worth ISD sent letters to parents of students in schools near the incident informing them about what happened. In light of the indecent exposure parents are being encouraged to talk with their children about traveling safely to and from schools.

Anyone with information about the incident, the man in question, or the white van is asked to call Fort Worth police at (817) 348-1157 or Crime Stoppers at (817) 469-TIPS (8477).
