PD: Murder Suspect Had Threatened Before To Kill Ex-Wife
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - A Fort Worth man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-wife, had threatened to kill her before, according to documents obtained by CBS 11 News.
Fort Worth police arrested John St. Angelo, 49, after a six hour standoff in a Fort Worth home on Tuesday, December 31. The day before, police say St. Angelo repeatedly stabbed Suzanne Parsons at her workplace, a ReMax office on Heritage Trace Parkway.
According to an arrest warrant issued for St. Angelo, police responded to a cutting call at the real estate office around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon. They found Suzanne Parsons lying dead on the floor of a back room and spoke with three women who witnessed the stabbing.
One witness told police she heard "blood curdling screams" coming from Parsons' office. When she and two others went to check on Parsons, they found the door was locked. Another witness unlocked and opened the door to find St. Angelo standing over Parsons and stabbing her with a large knife, according to the police report. Police say the three women then ran out of the building. Another witness told police he saw St. Angelo walking away from Parsons office after the murder.
A final witness told police that Parsons and St. Angelo had recently completed a bitter divorce, which Parsons had had filed for in May. The witness told police that St. Angelo had beaten Parsons and threatened to stab Parsons with an ice pick while the two were vacationing in Mexico. Parsons filed for divorce after the trip, according to the arrest warrant.
St. Angelo is being held on an $800,000 bond in Tarrant County Jail. He has been charged with murder.
