LEWISVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Lewisville are warning the community about a possible case of 'Stranger Danger.' A 9-year-old girl has come forward and told authorities that she thinks a man tried to grab her at a school bus stop Tuesday morning.

The little girl said everything happened in front of The Enclave Apartments, in the 2100 block of Uecker Lane. The girl said she turned and ran after a man started running toward her. She said she knocked on apartment doors until someone let her inside.

Police say the girl's mother was in the process of getting ready for work and unbeknownst to her the child had walked outside on her own.

The little girl is a student at Southridge Elementary. Parents with students at the school were notified about the incident by email.

One father said he was outside of the school just after the incident happened. "Usually the parents are sitting out here with the kids, so that's why it kind of struck me as strange that that would happen. Because usually it's all elementary kids, from five [years old] on up to eight or nine."

The male suspect apparently ran off right away. Police only have a very vague description of the suspect and no one saw which direction he ran or if he got into a vehicle.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to call the Lewisville Police Department at 972-219-3600 or the TIPS line at 972-219-TIPS (8477). Cell phone users can send an anonymous tip by texting "TipLPD" and a message to 847411.
