PD: 3 Shooting Victims Dead, Murder Suspect In Custody

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth police confirmed Tuesday that all three victims of a July 1 shooting are dead and the person believed responsible for the crime is in custody.

The shooting happened late Monday afternoon in the 2900 block of Pate Drive.

A 39-year-old woman and 21-year-old pregnant woman, whose names have not been released, were both killed, along with a 10-year-old boy now identified as Eddie McCuin. The 21-year-old woman was believed to be about eight months pregnant. Hospital workers were also unable to save her unborn child.

The victims were transported to three different hospitals and pronounced dead at three different times.

Tuesday morning Fort Worth police charged 22-year-old Amos Wells, who police confirm is the father of the unborn child, with Capital Murder in connection with the case. He is being held on a $2,000,000 bond.

Records show Wells has at least on two other occasions, 2008 and 2011, faced Assault Causing Bodily Injury charges.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiners Office will determine the exact cause of death for each victim.

Fort Worth police say they continue to investigate the murders. Because the mother was near full-term, authorities are treating the death of the unborn child as murder.
