#Pay88 Trending As Fans Show Support For Long-Term Dez Bryant Deal
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The hashtags #DezBryant and #Pay88 were trending Monday afternoon as the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver reiterated on Twitter that he wants a long-term deal.
Bryant tweeted Monday afternoon that "on his beautiful babies...he will not be there if no deal" The tweet didn't make it clear if he was talking about training camp, regular season games or both.
Bryant and the Cowboys have until Wednesday to get a deal done. Otherwise, Bryant has the option to sit out or sign the franchise tag deal the Cowboys have offered him, which is worth about $13 million for the upcoming season. A long-term deal cannot be negotiated after the July 15 deadline, per NFL rules. If Bryant chose to sit out, he would miss about $800,000 per game.
Former athletes, celebrities and die hard Cowboys fans showed their support for Bryant on Twitter. Some even suggested starting a GoFundMe page to raise money for Bryant if the two sides don't get a deal done.
