Passenger Blames American Airlines For Wife's Death

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A Canadian man is suing American Airlines blaming the Fort Worth-based company for the death of his wife.

Sharon Tallieu died minutes after getting off of a flight from DFW Airport to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico last March.

According to the lawsuit, she had trouble breathing during that flight.

An American Airlines employee gave her oxygen and she improved.

Her husband, Joost Tallieu, says he told employees Tallieu had a pre-existing medical condition and asked that an ambulance meet them when they landed.

According to the lawsuit, that did not happen. The lawsuit also claims that an airline employee demanded Tallieu give back the oxygen she was using. She died 30 minutes later.

CBS 11 contacted American Airlines, but a spokesperson declined to comment on pending litigation.
