Parker County Man Shoots Dogs To Protect Livestock
PARKER COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) -- A man in Parker County shot and killed two dogs who entered his property and threatened his livestock, according to authorities.
The owner of the pets contacted the Parker County Sheriff's Office after finding her adult female Siberian Husky and its female puppy shot to death on the side of a country road on Tuesday.
After an investigation, authorities determined that the man was simply trying to protect the lives of his cattle after the dogs entered his fenced property.
"We received a call from the property and cattle owner who reported that he shot the dogs after they entered his property and began threatening his livestock," Sheriff Larry Fowler said. "He was upset that he had to shoot the dogs but feared they would kill a new-born calf and other cattle. In this particular case, we found that the cattle owner's actions were justified according to State Law."
Investigators say the man cooperated throughout the investigation.
