Parade Of Lights Shines In Downtown Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - At the Parade of Lights in downtown Fort Worth, tradition was on full display with wounded officer Matt Pearce serving as Grand Marshall.

"It's incredible what he's been through," attendee Joanne Sanchez said. "We love seeing him here."

Marching bands, motorcycles and even Back to the Future cars were all dressed layers of lights.

Over 100 floats filled the streets, and every block overflowed with generations of spectators. Some kids were hoisted high by the parents while others snuggled on the sidewalks.

Attendee Jake Sanchez said he has attended the annual parade longer than he can remember.

"These are my parents. They've been bringing us ever since I was born," Jake Sanchez said. "I'm 26. We've been coming every year."

Jake Sanchez's mother Joanne said the holidays mean a lot to her because to her, it's part of being a family.

The Parade of Lights can be seen as a night to celebrate with old friends and create memories with new ones.
