OSHA Investigating Company Behind Fairview Sewer Accident

FAIRVIEW (CBSDFW.COM) - The fatal sewer accident in Fairview this week has led to an investigation by OSHA. And NewsRadio 1080 has learned it's not the first time.

OSHA officials say that the S.J. Louis Construction company already has 10 violations against it for exposing workers to multiple safety hazards... including sending employees into an 80 inch pipeline without proper safety equipment last year.

Emergency officials say the two men in this week's accident were not wearing protective breathing equipment. It's not clear yet if they had the proper air monitors to alert them of any dangerous gas.

Fire officials say the two men were either overcome by lack of oxygen or toxic fumes. Both men died in the accident. One was discovered immediately by emergency crews on Thursday. The other was swept down the pipeline and discovered the next day.
