One Dead, Two Injured In McKinney House Fire

McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) -- One man was killed and two women injured in a house fire in McKinney on Thursday afternoon. Fire officials say the preliminary cause of the fire is electrical in nature.
Emergency crews responded to a house in the 500 block of Rocky Springs Drive around 1 p.m.
"I did not see flames but I did see heavy smoke coming from the rear and the second floor of the structure when I got on" says Timothy Carroll, a neighbor.
McKinney Fire officials say one of the women inside ran out of the house screaming for help at a neighbors house.
"Basically what I saw is a police officer and neighbor with an elderly female, holding her back in a lawn chair and she was in hysterics" says Carroll.
Stacie Durham with the McKinney Fire Department says the call initially came in as a disturbance and there was a language barrier. After police and firefighters arrived two women were transported from the scene. One required CPR and is at Parkland Hospital.
"We also have one confirmed fatality of a middle-aged male," said Durham. Fire officials say the man, believed to be in his 50s, died of smoke inhalation. His name has not been released pending notification to next of kin.
