Man Dead After Triple Shooting At Bachman Lake

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - One man is dead and two women were hurt after a gunman opened fire on a group of young people at Bachman Lake on Sunday night.

Police said that it happened around 10:15 p.m. when a group of people standing in the parking lot began exchanging words words with a group of young people in a black Ford Explorer that had driven into the park.

Investigators said that a man in the SUV pulled out a gun and opened fire, striking the three victims.

The man was taken to Parkland Hospital, but later died. He has been identified as 18-year-old Alexander Hock from Dallas.

The two women also went to Parkland Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. They have been identified as 19-year-old Karian Castillo and 20-year-old Rubi De Los Santos.

John Noble is a friend of the man who was killed. He was on the phone with his girlfriend when the violence erupted. "Next thing you know, I hear gunshots," Noble recalled. "Once I got closer, I hear some more gunshots, so I started ducking off until they kind of die out."

Noble said that he heard about eight gunshots total. He was one of about a dozen people who called 911 after the incident.

"Right now, the suspects are at large," said Sgt. Eddie Douglas. "We're in the process of getting them identified and hopefully we will be able to arrest them reasonably soon."

Douglas said that the motive for the shootings is not known. There is no word on whether the two groups knew each other.
