UPDATE: Official National Weather Service Tornado Count Up To 14
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Experts with the National Weather Service (NWS) continue to gather information on Tuesday's storms. On Thursday, the NWS concluded that two weak tornadoes touched down in Irving and in Grand Prairie, and another one in Dallas near Skyline High School.
The three newly declared EF-0 twisters bring the official tornado count for Tuesday up to 14.
The new information isn't hard to believe for some residents in Lancaster. On Thursday Dallas County officials declared the area a local disaster. In all, they say some 300 homes and businesses in the county were damaged or destroyed.
Besides Lancaster, two other North Texas cities, Arlington and Lancaster, received extensive damage.
The NWS now considers the City of Forney the hardest hit area. Officials say the tornado that touched down there was an EF-3 and had winds of 150 miles an hour.
As the residents of Forney try to pick up the pieces of their lives other North Texans are apparently stepping in to do anything they can. In fact, officials said donation at the Forney collection site have been pouring in at such a rate that excess items are going to be sent elsewhere.
Forney is now collecting their excess supplies and taking those items to other North Texas communities impacted by Tuesday's tornadoes. The first extra supplies will go to Royse City.

More than 400 homes and business were damaged in Arlington. Thursday city officials allowed more workers into hard hit areas to cut fallen trees into logs and assist with debris removal.
The twister that hit in Arlington was an EF-2 with winds of about 135 miles and hour.
Teams with the National Weather Service continue to travel from area to area, inspecting damage from Tuesday's storms and making official determinations as to what type of weather event occurred there and how strong it was.
