Off-Duty Police Officer Shot By Wife, Airlifted To Hospital
TERRELL (CBSDFW.COM) — An off-duty Methodist Health System police officer was airlifted to a Dallas-area hospital after he was shot in the back.
Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom said the officer's wife called police after what was reported as an accidental discharge on Tuesday night.
It happened in the 100 block of Pebble Creek Lane in Terrell just after 8 p.m.
The officer was transported to a nearby parking lot where he was further transported by CareFlite medical helicopter to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
The officer's current condition is unknown at this time.
The Methodist Hospital police department has been notified. The Terrell Police Department is investigating the shooting.
