Octopus Exhibit Opens At Grapevine Aquarium

GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM) - A new exhibit is opening on Tuesday afternoon at the Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine. The Octopus Garden is an educational hands-on experience, and a giant Pacific octopus named Eleanor is the main attraction. CBS 11 News was able to preview the exhibit before it opened to the public, and reporter Melissa Newton got an up-close view of Eleanor in her habitat.

Sea Life Aquarium is a 45,000 square foot facility located inside of the Grapevine Mills Mall, and filled with all kinds of creepy, crawly, underwater creatures. Octopus Garden curator Karen Riffenberry said that the aquarium prides itself on being both entertaining and educational. "We want to make it fun," she said. "We want to create that interactive experience and bring the ocean home."

Tickets for Sea Life Aquarium are available online (click here to visit the aquarium's website) or at the door. Prices vary.
