Obama Attends Fundraisers, Plays Golf During Dallas Stop

DALLAS (CBS 11) — On what could be his last trip to Dallas as sitting president, President Barack Obama spent Saturday fundraising, taking jabs at Donald Trump and playing a little golf.
Obama attended two private fundraisers in Dallas. The first stop was the Democratic National Committee fundraiser at Gilley's.
In his speech to the nearly 750 in attendance, Obama poked fun at Republican presidential frontrunner Trump and addressed the current climate of the Republican Party.
"What folks who are running for office should be focused on is how we can make it even better," he said. "Not insults and schoolyard taunts and manufacturing facts."
From there Obama attended a smaller $16,700-a-ticket fundraiser for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee at the home of Naomi Aberly.
Before leaving town, the president played a round of golf at Dallas National with former Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk, lawyer Peter Kraus and former Cowboy Emmitt Smith.
As his motorcade went from Dallas National to Love Field, dozens lined the streets in hopes of catching a glimpse of the president.
"Even if I can't see him through the tinted glass to see him driving past, I can have my moment to wave. I feel like I am paying my respects," said Tim Greenwell of Lewisville. "I can check it off my bucket list."
