RICHARDSON, TX (CBSDFW.COM) -- Days after Sony Pictures pulled "The Interview" from theaters across the country, several theaters in North Texas have now been given permission to show the controversial flick.

The Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson was the first to announced it was playing the movie.  Tickets for Christmas Day showings sold out on Tuesday.  The Venetian in Carrollton and Look Cinemas in Dallas later announced they would also screen "The Interview.

"I was seeing they were selling out pretty quickly, so I thought I might as well strike while the iron is hot," said Drew Michalak, a Dallas resident who waited in line on Tuesday for tickets.

The movie mocks North Korea and was originally pulled after hackers anonymously made threats if it ever hit the screen.

"Honestly, any threat, no matter how realistic or potential, you have to at least acknowledge. But we're not worried about it," said James Wallace at the Alamo Drafthouse.

Wallace said the theater is taking precautions and is in contact with Richardson Police.

"I don't think anybody should go to this movie on Christmas day thinking they're setting themselves up for a good lawsuit against the theater," said Chris Hamilton, a Dallas-based civil attorney.

Hamilton expects the theater to have extra security. He also said the theater might give a warning to those attending.

"As long as the theater takes reasonable precautions, I think the likelihood for liability of the theater is very low," said Hamilton.

Hamilton said Sony Pictures is also protected through the First Amendment. Michalak said he is not very concerned anything bad will happen.

"North Korea is pretty long way off and I don't think I'll be worried even when the time comes," said Michalak.

The Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff will also be showing "The Interview," and the Galaxy Drive-In Theater in Ennis posted on its Facebook page that it will begin showing the movie on Christmas Day as well.
