North Texas Man Sentenced For 245lb Drug Load
LUBBOCK (AP) — A federal judge in Lubbock has sentenced a North Texas man to nearly six years in prison for hauling more than 245 pounds of marijuana.
According to the U.S. Attorney's office, a Texas state trooper pulled over a pickup truck carrying 22-year-old Brian Julian Gallardo of Sherman, Texas in October. The truck was carrying several spools of barbed wire in which troopers found 229 bricks of marijuana. The truck's driver, 48-year-old Mark Dean Garrison, of Denison was sentenced earlier this month to nearly four years in prison.
U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings sentenced Gallardo Friday to 71 months in prison.
