North Texas Man Charged With Murder Of His 3-Year-Old Daughter
HURST (CBSDFW.COM) - A North Texas man has been arrested for the murder of his 3-year-old daughter.
Robert Marquis Lamar Williams is accused of killing little Anastasia Williams. The girl's body was found in her bedroom, at a Hurst apartment complex, on March 22.
Neighbors had said Williams ran from the apartment, begging for help, saying his daughter wasn't breathing.
Today there was no dramatic incident when officers took Williams into custody. "About 2:15 detectives went down, with a probable cause warrant, to Mr. Williams's residence and without any further incident he was arrested and charged with murder," Hurst Assistant Police Chief Richard Winstanley explained.
After Anastasia's death the Tarrant County Medical Examiner determined the little girl died when her liver ruptured, because of blunt trauma to her abdomen.
Williams is charged with murder. Police said they're still checking to see if the 26-year-old has a criminal record. "We're still looking at some records, because there's some different states and jurisdictions and we're still getting some information from them."
Williams is being held in the Hurst Jail on $100,000 bond.
