North Texans Celebrating The Weather Before Christmas

NORTH TEXAS (CBS11) - North Texans are celebrating the mild, sunny weather this holiday season.
It hasn't been this warm during the days leading up to Christmas since 1982, 33 years ago.
So many people spent the day soaking up the sun.
Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas started filling up with parents and their children by mid Wednesday morning.
Many of them were wearing t-shirts and shorts.
With all the food trucks, we found people getting ready to have a picnic lunch.
Eve Kasabi of North Dallas says she changed her plans once she realized how nice it is. "I woke up at six, went jogging at 6:30, which was absolutely beautiful. I already made arrangements with my girlfriend, let's go have a picnic, it's going to be gorgeous."
Elizabeth Scarborough came out to the park with her young son and husband. "I picture Christmas and everyone in their sweaters and pants, cozy up by the fireplace, but it's Texas, you can never predict what the weather is going to be. We'll enjoy this. I prefer the warm over the freezing cold I guess."
In Frisco, hundreds of people skated on the outdoor rink set-up along Main Street in Frisco Square.
Skaters enjoyed the 70 degree temperatures.
Tara King of Frisco said, "This is fantastic. We tried to go skating inside, but it's so much nicer to be outside and not freezing. I'm enjoying the weather.
She and her husband brought their three young children here.
Jeremy King said, "It's great, it's beautiful, it's nice being outside, the fresh air, and the crowds."
