NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (KRLD-AM) - A video by the North Richland Hills Police Department is giving a glimpse into the lives of officers...and making waves on social media.

The video uses this version of the song Sounds of Silence...and accompanies footage of police officers going about their day. It also shows their families and lives outside the department.

Carissa Katekaru, NRH police's social media coordinator made the video.

She says they were hoping they could 'speak to people' through the video, but had no idea it would get so big.

It already has over a million hits on youtube.

The video was made several months ago...but has surfaced again with the recent anti-police sentiment.

NRH police detective Keith Bauman says the video really shows the stress that officers go through in their jobs...and it says what they can't.

Bauman says the video can also remind officers that they all go through similar journeys...and they're never alone.
