Normal Activity Resumes At Texas A&M After Code Maroon
COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Texas A&M University officials have told those on campus to resume normal activity. That's an hour after a report of an armed man led to a "Code Maroon" alert.
The alert issued just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday directed those in campus buildings to remain where they were and those outdoors top seek shelter. Just before 5:30 p.m., the school's website said those on campus could "resume activities" but remain cautious.
School spokesman Jason Cook said someone on campus made the report and police are searching the central part of the 5,000-acre university near the Sanders Corps Center.
