Non-Profit Tennis Program Helping Children With Autism
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The U.S. Open aired on CBS 11 Friday, just one day before a non-profit tennis program is set to get special needs kids on the court.
The group called "ACEing Autism" will hold tennis classes T Bar & M Racquet Club in Dallas. The recreational tennis programs are specifically for children with autism.
South African native Jean Anderson, a University of Texas graduate who was an All-American ranked as high as #30 in the NCAA during his time at UT, is the program director.
The new program starts September 6 and will be held for two hours every Saturday. The first class, starting at 9 am, is for children under 10 years old. The second class starts at 10 am and is for children between 11 and 18-years-old.
All the equipment will be provided and the children do not have to have tennis experience to participate.
There is a cost of $15 per class, but special arrangements will be made for some low-income families. Anyone needing more information about financial assistance should call the ACEing Autism main office at (617) 901-7153.

Currently ACEing Autism has 30 programs in 10 states that each week serves some 500 children.
