Nolan Ryan Released From Houston Hospital

HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Texas Rangers president and CEO Nolan Ryan was released from the hospital in Houston Tuesday morning. He had been there since Sunday morning with some discomfort in his chest, something related to a previous heart condition.

Ryan underwent tests Monday, which - per a Rangers press release "indicated no new developments with this recurrence of Mr. Ryan's heart condition. That condition will continue to be treated with medication." Ryan had a double-bypass operation in 2000 and has a family history of heart disease.

The Hall of Famer is expected to rest at his home for the next several days before resuming his duties with the Rangers.

Ryan, 64, holds the all-time record for career strikeouts (5,714) and no-hitters (seven). He pitched for the Rangers for five years and threw his sixth and seventh no-hitters in a Rangers uniform.
