No Injuries In 2 Overnight 18-Wheeler Accidents
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – No one was injured in two overnight accidents involving 18-wheelers in the region Saturday.
In Dallas, the driver of an 18-wheeler swerved to avoid hitting a stalled car on northbound Interstate 35 near eastbound Interstate 30 at about 4:45 a.m. The highway was slick from rain, and the truck hydroplaned and came to a stop while hanging off the bridge.
The driver was able to exit the cab on his own and was not hurt.
In Tarrant County, the brakes under the trailer portion of an 18-wheeler became overheated and caught fire at northbound Highway 287 at East Loop 820 at about 5:30 a.m. The driver unhooked the cab section and moved it away from the trailer.
MedStar was called at about 5:45 a.m., but no one was injured.
