No Criminal Charges Filed In Two Reported UTA Sex Assualts

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - UT Arlington police have finished investigating two of the four recent reported sexual assaults on campus, and according to a statement released by the university, no criminal charges will be filed in wither case at this time.

One of the sexual assaults is connected to the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house and reportedly happened on August 24.

"Police determined the complaint cannot move forward unless additional evidence is discovered or presented to investigators," said Kristen Sullivan, UTA Assistant Vice President of Media Relations.

Sullivan said the other case reportedly happened on September 14 near the Life Science Building. However, police found the elements of a sexual assault were not present.

Two more sexual assault cases on campus remain under investigation. Police say in all cases, the victim knew the suspect.
