NFL Network Analyst Suspended For Suggesting Eagles Put Bounty On Ezekiel Elliott

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The NFL Network has suspended analyst Brian Baldinger for comments he made to a Philadelphia radio station last week.
According to the Sporting News, Baldinger has been suspended without pay for six months for suggesting the Eagles put a "bounty" on Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott.
"This is the guy that that we've got to hurt," Baldinger said of Elliott to 97.5 The Fanatic. "This is the guy that we've got to take out of the game. There's got to be 10 guys that want to hurt him every single play. In fact, we may even put a little bounty on Ezekiel Elliott."
In an interview Thursday with NJ Advanced Media, Baldinger said "the punishment doesn't fit the crime."
Baldinger has been with the NFL Network for the last six years. He previously worked for Fox as an analyst.
Baldinger played with the Cowboys from 1982 to 1987, followed by the Colts, then the Eagles for his final two seasons in 1992 and 1993.
The NFL suspended New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and former defensive coordinator Greg Williams for the entire 2012 season after the NFL discovered they were using a bounty system from 2009 to 2011. Four players and General Manager Mickey Loomis were also suspended.
The Saints won Super Bowl XLIV in 2011.
