New Poll Tests Religious Knowledge
A new survey shows that Atheists know more about religion that many religious Americans. Did you know that the Catholic faith teaches the bread and wine used in Holy Communion is not just a symbol, but becomes the body and blood of Jesus Christ? According to a survey by the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion and Public Life 45 percent of Roman Catholics didn't know that. The thirty-two question survey addressed many religious topics, and those who answered most of the questions correctly, according to Pew's Associate Dirctor, Alan Cooperman, were Atheists and Agnostics, along with Jewish people who knew most about other faiths. The group that knew most about Christianity? Mormons. And overall, those who performed best on the survey attended weekly worship services.
