New Law Gives Truckers Access To Natural Gas
DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Governor Rick Perry has signed into law a bill that makes it easier for a North Texas company to sell 18-wheelers that run on natural gas.
With a green truck cab as a backdrop, the Governor signed the bill into law at the Peterbuilt offices in Denton. The law gives trucking firms a break if they buy natural gas-fuled big rigs.

Given the location of the natural gas filling stations across the state, the Governor says the new law will help "create a clean transportation triangle between Houston, Dallas and San Antonio.
From the perspect of Peterbilt's General Manager, Bill Jackson, this is long overdue. "What that means is that we now have the fueling stations and infrastructure, people are buying more natural gas trucks."
Another law that was signed deals with the chemicals used in fracking... which is one way Texas companies are getting the natural gas out of the ground.
