New Food Among Changes At Rangers Ballpark
ARLINGTON (CBS 11 NEWS) - For the first time this season, the Texas Rangers are coming home to play at the ballpark, all in advance of opening day. The team takes on Mexico City in an exhibition game Thursday night, and it's the first time fans will get to see improvements made to the ballpark.
Hungry fans will notice one of the changes: a new concession stand that specializes in all things enormous, including the Beltre buster burger named for Adrian Beltre. It's a pound of beef and eight ounces of bacon.
The murpha-dillas, named after David Murphy, are 24 inches of flat bread quesadilla topped with Nolan Ryan brisket. It's big enough to satisfy even Murphy's cravings for quesadillas.
Both the burger and the quesadillas are priced at 26 bucks.
Above the new concessions is the Capital One Club. It's a private club until the third inning. After that, anyone sitting in the lower level between the dugouts can come in.
There are also new seats for fans between the dugouts in the lower level, and three rows of first class seats behind home plate, putting fans right on top of the action.
"The ownership has invested a lot in the experience here," said Rick George, President of Business Operations. "And we think we've elevated that experience between what we're doing on the field and what we're doing off the field."
