JOHNSON COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) — Michael Dwayne Bailey, 41, and his daughter Megan Lynn Bailey, 19, stand accused of robbing a Grandview bank and then leading police on a wild and dangerous chase that ended in Mansfield.
The father and daughter duo are suspected of robbing the Grandview Bank on Criner street Thursday just after noon. Investigators believe the daughter waited in the car while her father allegedly held the bank up at gun point and stole money. When police responded to 911 calls the pair bolted.
The chase took police in and out of Johnson County; through many different cities at some points reaching speeds of about 150 miles an hour. The 41-year old who is believed to have been driving ultimately wrecked on a Mansfield road before they were arrested unharmed.
Bailey's Mansfield neighbors say they were shocked to hear of the news.
Fernand Bonachea who lives two doors down from the Bailey's says the 41-year old suffers from PTSD.
He added, "The mental problems that he has got… during the war a lot of civilians do not understand what a veteran goes through."
Bonachea is an Army veteran himself who had become Bailey's confidant. He says recently his mental health began to slip. "He went down hill a couple of months ago."
