Murder Shocks Quiet Colleyville Neighborhood

COLLEYVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Colleyville are investigating the city's first murder case in more than two decades. The killing took place at a home before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and the neighborhood's layout could actually help police solve the crime.

The name of the victim has not yet been released, but officials said that she was working at the Colleyville home. Another worker, who takes care of the houseplants, arrived later to find a lot of blood and then the deceased woman. Police are not releasing many details about the murder, but said that she suffered some sort of trauma.

The house sits in a rather quiet and secluded neighborhood, on a street with a dead end. It is not an easy location to stumble upon, so police believe that the killer may have known how to get to Frontier Court, and was targeting the woman specifically.

Even though this is thought to be an isolated incident, residents in the neighborhood are not sitting comfortably knowing that the killer has not yet been found. "Nothing like this has happened before. I guess, in 20 years, they haven't had problems," stated neighbor Frank Allen. "Nobody comes down here unless they live here, pretty much."

"Everybody is empty-nesters or retired couples," added neighbor Pedram Pahlavan. "Even on Halloween night, we don't have kids visiting."

"Colleyville is so safe," said resident Brandy Rowntree. "That's one of the reasons we chose to raise our kids here. So, I'm completely shocked."
