DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Surveillance footage from an Aggravated Robbery of the Burger King at 3004 South Buckner Boulevard helped catch an alleged armed robber and killer.
Tips helped Dallas detectives identify the suspect as 17-year-old Juan Edward Jones.
A day later, Wednesday, December 9, members of the US Marshal's FAST Team arrested Jones in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Dallas Police Detectives traveled to Arkansas and interviewed Jones.
Police say Jones admitted to the Burger King robbery along with 3 other business robberies the same day in Southeast Dallas.
These robberies occurred at two Burger Kings, a McDonalds and a Jack in the Box restaurant.
Police say each time, Jones would drive up to the cashier window after ordering food and would rob the cashier. They say Jones also admitted to committing the car-jacking during which the blue Honda CRV was stolen in North Dallas.
The day before this, a witness came forward with information regarding the murder of 17-year-old, Charles Johnson, at 9914 Cedar Mountain Circle on December 5.
The witness told homicide detectives he was at the home where the murder took place.
This witness said Jones and the victim, Johnson got into an argument and the witness says he saw Jones shoot and kill Johnson.
Jones has admitted that he had been at 9914 Cedar Mountain Circle on the night of the murder but has denied that he was involved in Johnson's death.
