Multiple High-Water Rescues Reported During Morning Commute
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The heavy rain that swept across North Texas overnight caught a few drivers off-guard in their morning commute.

Dallas Fire Rescue reported to 8 high water rescue calls between midnight and 9:00 Wednesday morning.
The most serious one happened on Park Central Drive near the LBJ Freeway. A woman driving a Chevy Yukon on the Interstate 635 Service Road became trapped in the high water from nearby White Rock Creek.

The area was dark and is currently under construction for the highway's expansion.
Water reached up to the top of the SUV, trapping the woman, later identified as 71-year-old Dorthy Hoenig of Mesquite, inside.
As the water rose above her waist, she grabbed her soaking wet cell phone and called 911.
She says the water reached her neck before Dallas Firefighters were able to rescue her by pulling her out the driver's side window.
Hoenig was taken to the hospital because of hypothermia concerns, but was later released.
The frontage road remains closed as water is still standing over the road.
