Movie Theater Shooting Survivor Speaks At Dallas Fundraiser
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - CBS radio station 103.7 Lite FM/KVIL personalities Gene & Julie are hosting a North Texas benefit for the victims of the Aurora movie theater tragedy.
Colorado native Megan Saunders is the guest speaker at the fundraiser. She was at the ill-fated Dark Knight Rises screening and is now touring the country speaking and hoping to raise support for victims.
Megan went to the movie with five of her best friends to celebrate her 20th birthday. All of group made it out of the theater without injury.
Joining Megan and Gene & Julie will be a gathering of local celebrities, including Matt Nordgren from Bravo's "Most Eligible Dallas," Steve Kemble, LeeAnne Locken, Amy Vanderoef, and more.
The happy hour event is being held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sambuca. The restaurant is located at 2120 McKinney Avenue in Dallas.
Donations collected at the event will go straight to COVA, Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance, which will help support the victims and their families.
