Motorcycle Rider Thanking Good Samaritan Trucker For His Life
WAXAHACHIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Kyle Webb was in a terrible motorcycle accident. There was nobody on the road except for a Good Samaritan driving an 18-wheeler.
"I stopped and tried to help him out best I could," Stewart King said. King, a 45-year-old truck driver, was on a mission in Waxahachie last Thursday night.
"I think God put me there in the right spot at the right time," King said. Only he didn't know it, until he saw it unfold in front of his eyes - a motorcycle accident on I-35.
He stopped to help. "I checked him and he had damaged his leg real bad," King said.
The leg was severed. A 911 operator told King to keep the victim awake before help arrived.
"So, I'd reach over and rub him on the head or arm a little bit. He was trying to go to sleep on me and I wouldn't let him," King said.
Kyle Webb starts tearing up when he thinks about it. "I didn't even know him and he saved me," Webb said.
Kyle Webb is 28-years-old. He has a wife and three children under the age of six. Webb lost his leg that night. He knows, it could have been his life. "God sent him to give me a second chance," Webb said.
Webb's 25-year-old wife Asley said, "And he gave me a life too because without him (Kyle), I wouldn't have been able to go on either."
"He was an angel that night," Kyle Webb said. But Stewart King admits, he's no angel. "I think I'm gonna start going back to church just because this happened," King said.
Kyle Webb has another surgery Wednesday. Physical Therapy after that. And, no date yet. But, he is looking
forward to meeting the man who saved his life.
Stewart King has been driving a truck for 19 years. He's been working for Timco the last three. His company plans to honor him for his heroic efforts.
