Motorcycle Driver Killed In Grand Prairie Collision
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) – A 49-year-old motorcycle driver was killed Saturday when his Yamaha motorcycle collided with the side of a 1997 Mitsubishi Montero at the intersection of Robinson Rd. and Crossland Blvd., a police spokesman said Sunday.
Euless resident Steven Washington, 49, was traveling northbound on Robinson Rd. when the Montero, which was driving westbound on Crossland Blvd., pulled in front of the bike to turn south.
Washington drove the motorcycle into the side of the car and died at the scene. The driver of the Montero, Chantha Soulachack, 61, and passenger Khone Soulachack, 59, were taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries, Grand Prairie Police said.
Sgt. Eric Hansen said it looked like the Montero rolled through a stop sign. He said there was no indication that speeding or alcohol was a factor in the collision, although the incident remains under investigation.
This is the 20th traffic death in Grand Prairie this year.
