Morris Gets Unexpected Return To NFL With Dallas

IRVING  (AP) - Sammy Morris figured he had played his last NFL game.

The running back with 11 seasons of NFL experience was simply staying in shape when he got a call this week from the Dallas Cowboys, the team coached for his former teammate Jason Garrett.

When Cowboys rookie sensation DeMarco Murray broke his right ankle, the Cowboys (7-6) needed another running back to go with Felix Jones. Phillip Tanner was put on injured reserve last week with a hamstring injury.

The 34-year-old Morris joins Dallas after being cut at the end of training camp after four seasons with New England.
