Morning Rain Just The Start Of Things

Morning rain moved across the Metroplex for the commute. It'll continue to move east and leave us with mostly cloudy skies this afternoon:

 

This is just the start of rain chances for the work week. Not widespread rains any one day but staying around all the way until Thursday:

Last Cabo San Lucas got hit straight on by a Category 3 Hurricane with 115mph winds. Moisture from this Hurricane Odile is already in Texas. The forecast is that Odile turns into a Tropcial Storm before it reaches the U.S. border into Arizona. It presents a large flooding threat for the desert southwest over the next several days:

A frontal boundary to our north settles overhead on Tuesday and Wednesday. This will focus the tropical moisture from Hurricane Odile streaming from western Mexico into north Texas:

Because of persistent cloud cover through the period we are not expecting enough atmospheric instability to produce severe storms. Rain chances are highest on Tuesday and Wednesday:

As soon as it dries out we get back into some muggy 90° days to close the work week and start the weekend. The next front arrives on Sunday:

We went from Summer to Fall in about 48 hours last week. Now something more September like will linger around:
